Well, that's a good point, Bridget. I just figured the reader would assume ML was okay since I did not mention injury. But the facts are more nuanced. Thirty plus years later the banging of her hip on that curb had turned into arthritis and she had an implant. As for riding, yeah, ML loves the motorcycle almost as much as I, and she's taken long trip to Arizona, Colorado, and even from Michigan to Virginia, while also riding to Big Bend in the heat of the Texas summer, which usually takes us 8-10 hours, depending on the number of stops to hydrate.

I really enjoyed listening to this essay. Very nice. Classic Jim Moore. But, you didn’t say what happened to Mary Lou after the accident. Obviously she lived, but did she sustain any injuries? Did she ever want to ride with you again?
