Whatever good will and support Israel gained from their loss was quickly wasted in their "punishment" of Hamas. Once again, a refrain rises up from our youth: "The whole world is watching," but the world has been watching for three quarters of a century and has achieved nothing of lasting consequence but increased frustration, hatred, and bloodshed. Where is the greatness in leadership that is needed? It's not currently evident on either side of the Palestinian territorial areas and Israel. And, just as you pointed out, until it emerges the children will continue to die.
Terrorist organizations can’t be defeated by conventional means as they hide amongst the innocent. It’s the same knee jerk reaction we had on 9/11. Israel’s military will fail, the hate will grow, and Hamas (or whatever they morph into) will come back stronger than ever backed by the Arab countries who enable them. I think Israel really believes they can wipe the earth of Palestinians. I think that’s called genocide.

Such gut-wrenching truth.
