(All y’all - just another author’s note. I’m contemplating beginning to provide premium content only for paid subscribers. I’d prefer to avoid that, but I need a bit more remuneration for my time on this little endeavor. The premium material would be a regular release of chapters in my memoir, “When Horses Could Fly: A Memoir of the American Dream.” The story is actually about my parents and their American dream in post war U.S. I’ve been working on it for years but I think it will provide a perfect antidote to “Hillbilly Elegy.” Other premium content will be “Motorcycle Diaries” from trips past, present, and future, and various short stories, fiction and non-fiction, which I have written, and will write. Also, I am probably going to begin reading my pieces into a podcast format since a number of folks have said they are more likely to listen to this work on their phone while commuting rather than while sitting and reading on their screens. In the meantime, please subscribe if you aren’t, and share, if you will. Please let me know your thoughts on any of the above in the comments section at the end of this piece. - JM)
Thanks, Bridget. I should've started a long time ago. It's not like I didn't spend 40 years as a professional broadcaster or anything. I've ordered the gear and will start reading as well as writing very soon. Appreciate your interest, as always!
Mr. Moore. I believe this...as usual, you articulated it brilliantly.
“There are not two sides to any story. There might be two opinions, but there is only one set of facts. It is irresponsible to interview a man who says the sky is clear when everyone can see it is raining.”
Hey Jim, I am so excited by the possibility of you reading your stories podcast style! My eyes are not what they used to be, and so I have become an audiobook, podcast junkie. I often click on the little earphones at the top right of the Substack articles even though the reader is a monotone robot. I can listen better than read these days. I love Substack and am more than happy to subscribe to the writers I enjoy, respect, and trust. I no longer subscribe to paper magazines or the old fashioned, delivered to your door newspaper so the subscription fees make sense to me.
I'm really glad that I got out when I did. Ron Stone had predicted what you're describing. I'm even more glad that you have continued writing! I look forward to what ever form the premium content takes.
We aren't that far apart. I was '73.

You continue to teach me,

I’m sharing this with my

Mr. Moore,
Respect your wishes monetize your commentary,as well you should. It's so hard to find quality opinion online.
Oh sure, I can find conservative opinion without looking. It flood's my messages and emails. But, I'm expected to pay for real news and opinion.
As a disabled person I am living on less than $800.00 per month.
Sure, I can get all the conservative news free. All the lies and disinformation I need for free!
Now, more responsible media outlets are monetizing their content.
I pay $63.00 monthly for phones, $20.00 for Internet (thanks to FCC assistance).
After food, rent, medication and utilities I'm broke I'm broke.
I mean broke dick dog broke.
NOW many respectable news outlets, including you, want to change for their content.
I guess you should, but I can't pay.
Where does that leave me? Figure it out.
Beautiful. Mr. Moore, this one post just turned me into a subscriber.
Mr Moore
Thank you for each news letter I do enjoy reading it

Hi Jim. I’m a fan of listening to podcasts in the car. Why did that suit think listeners are not sophisticated? (Rhetorical question)

Maybe you could give discounts to readers who need them.
