Your ability to show us the picture in its subtle shades of gray is always awful and wonderful. In my life after photojournalism I have worked with the wounds that don't bleed from all the wars from Vietnam til now. It hasn't gotten any easier to see the price paid and yet there remains the question of how to respond to the authoritarian bully whether at home or abroad. It's painful to watch and know that to be a witness is to be a victim
