Thought I’d take the day off and just look back a little bit and be grateful of times past and those coming down the road. Of course, picking pictures to fit in this format was not easy. The one above is, obviously, the famous corner in Winslow, Arizona. Stopped there on a motorcycle trip on the W.G. The bike is named after the late Wade Goodwyn, a fine person and journalist for NPR, who the world lost to cancer. He insisted his wife get me his amazing motorcycle, and I find myself riding it. The drawing of it in a picture below was made by a highway department worker who asked me about the initials on the bike. I told him Wade’s story, and he looked at the bike, took a picture, and asked for my phone number so he could text me a drawing. It’s quite amazing and clearly an unanticipated experience. I’d have loved to hear Wade’s telling of it. His bike will keep generating stories worth telling, just as I believe Wade would have liked.
Just wanted to offer a big thanks to everyone who reads, shares, and subscribes to this newsletter. It has exceeded my expectations when I started two and a half years ago. I hope it continues to grow and will have even broader appeal. I’ve got a wealth of stories I am just now starting to tap.

So many motorcycle trips you've taken... and one included me, albeit reluctantly on your part. However, I was thrilled to have my first cross-country motorcycle trip from Houston to Padre Island. I hope this photo comes through: /Users/Mauri/Desktop/Screen Shot 2023-12-27 at 8.25.47 AM.png
