Again, the evangelicals and other selfish voters all across the state are to blame for this! Abbott can spout all of these outrageous state sovereignty claims and use the Republic of Texas talk he wants out loud because he knows the dumb PUBLIC of Texas doesn’t read, think, or f’ing try to reason! If they did Rick “can’t remember what cabinet level departments he wants to cut and then became the head of one” Perry wouldn’t be our longest serving governor! Maybe Abbott will beat him, we’re still stupid enough! To hell with Texas, and I say that as someone who’s lived here all my 65 years!

Mike, you appear to be the dumbest most bigoted of the voters in Texas.

Abbott is the most dangerous lunatic in America.

Like I said several months ago: most all bad things politically start in Texas. I feel so ashamed of my state. I hid 3 comments out of self preservation, but the comments will come back. I feel certain I will get the rebuttal that if I don’t like it, then I can leave. I say to such that they can do likewise: if they don’t like what I am saying, they can leave. I have been here nearly 81 years. Texas is my home. I dearly love my home.

Wow, looks like you picked up some flack with your border article. Fortunately for them, we still live in a country where one may disagree. At least, that's the way it is for now. The legal issue, to me, is quite simple. The law is clear. But a law or regulation is only as good as its enforcement. Biden's careful about that as well he should be. Unfortunately, Texas and the other governors who align themselves with Abbott, want confrontation. I fear there's no solution that's not going to cause an eruption. How big that eruption will be is anybody's guess.

I especially like the part about letting them just come over a vote. It's the replacement theory nonsense that Tucker Carlson is pushing, that the Democrats have a plan to replace White voters with immigrants. Bad news for Trumpers, though, Biden and the Ds got the immigration bill through the Senate and now the House has to deal with it. They vote down the measures and the border becomes their problem and political albatross. The really old guy keeps kicking their butts.

And, if I may, wort the public to read Greg Olear’s substack Prevail. Same topic.

And all Texans need to read the last half of today’s Steve Schmidt substack The Warning. It ties into this topic.

Need to read Jason Garcia’s substack Seeking Rents today. (Sorry, I don’t know how to embed the link. There is no kid to help me now.) The first part is about mission creep concerning Florida’s private army. Wish I could make them stay home.

Guess I will be hunkering down starting February 2nd. It will feel like the pandemic. Already alerted my kids to hunker down.

I certainly do not expect 750,000 trucks with armed drivers to show up down there. I'd be surprised by a thousand. It ain't cheap to roll a big rig out of your own pocket to make a political statement on the southern edge of America. But we shouldn't worry, eh, since they describe themselves as a "Convoy of God."

There is the ability to block comentors. It doesn’t actually block, but it alerts me to scrutinize posts more carefully. Substack, maybe we need a dislike button.

I can always delete. But his commentary makes him out for the uninformed Trumper that he is.

No, don’t delete. The comment lets me know what is out there. And if you were to delete, it could lead to another cult on the opposite side. I am not complaining about them. Men are delightfully logical, even when I consider them wrong. I am giving you the emotional side. I am flat out irritated.

How many times do I have to explain this.

1) DC has control of the Border Patrol, the National Guard, and ICE.

2) DC has no intention of closing the border and keeping out several million illegal immigrants of fighting age.

3) Texas has, in addition to the aforementioned National Guard, The Texas State Guard, the Texas Rangers, and the Department of Public Service troopers. The Later three take their orders from the governor, via their commanding officers. The State Guard is part of the Texas Military, which also includes the Texas Naval forces.

Even if DC told the National guard to stand down, the Texas State Guard, the Rangers, and DPS would still be able to handle it. After all DC ignores Texas every time there is a natural disaster.

Since DC will not enforce the laws on the books, the states have the right to defend themselves.

Also, since every blue state says that they are sanctuary cities, until you send them border jumping immigrants, they are hypocrites.

Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California have the right to keep millions of illegal immigrants from invading their states and using their services without payment.

There are so many things wrong with this article that I don’t know where to begin. The border is open and that is how Biden wants it. The border needs to be closed and force may be needed. Finally, Bidens new policy is about NOT closing the border and instead offering aslylum and voting rights to those coming across. And spare me the rhetoric about his plan not saying that specifically. We all know that’s his goal.
