You must mean "Lieutenant Colonel" in the "US Army" or "US Air Force" or "US Marines" or "Lieutenant Commander" in the "US Navy" or "US Coast Guard."

Texas is known for it's lone stars out in the void.

You ask: How can the far right spend years whining about something and with a straight face ignore a chance to make a true difference?

Answer: As long as they believe Jan 6 was a tourist visit, ANTIFA and CRT (and now DEI) are real, Sleepy Senile Joe runs the biggest crime family in history, and VP Harris married Michelle Obama at a secret satanic wedding ceremony in Livingston, LA. (OK, I made that last one up but just wait a while, it'll come true.) Therefore, how long? As long as responsible R's and D's keep allowing such BS to continue. It seems to me that just might be a while.

I keep theorizing that what Abbott is doing in Texas is just proof of concept for Trump's Day One Dictatorship...proving the far-right extremist SCOTUS can be ignored without retribution...and 26 redcap Governors are in total agreement and supportive...TOBB is just a dumber portion of the 25% that believe all the Maggot crap...

If Abbott can go unpunished for ignoring the SC, I say we all just ignore Dobbs while we are at it. And personally I’m throwing Sackett in there too.

What are consequences even, apparently?

And maybe we can ignore Citizens United ruling and drop donations by corporations and end super PACs, long as we are dreaming!!

If we get too dreamy so will the Rs! But yes, let’s add more to the list!

Jim Bob, thanks for covering the Army of God as it seeks to … well, whatever it is seeking to do. This will turn out to be a fraction of what the organizers promised, and again expose a sad truth about MAGA — they talk (and the media covers them) as if they represent millions of Americans, but in fact they are the same fringe element they have always been. The only difference is they are taken seriously by a washed-up game show host and former president of the USA.

Watch out for their guns, though.

Oh James me bucko. This native Texan and former resident thanks you for your service. What a crew.... Cry the beloved truckers indeed. Well done.

I used to know a guy from Brownwood. His mother belonged to a Baptist church there whose parishioners regularly went out into the hills to look for the sort of lights I hear they see in Marfa. In this case the UFOs were considered Chariots of the Lord or something. This was 50 years ago. Even farther back than that I had a good time shooting cow pies with a 12-gauge shotgun from the back of J.B. Leonard's father's pickup outside Brownwood. We were looking for jackrabbits but there weren't any. If I mentioned that before I'm sorry. Awake at 5:00 a.m. here at 7,000 feet in Taos and my memory is a little hazy.

Appreciate the appellation "Drippin'"... never called it that myself.

Thanks, Doug. Maybe I write and think better when I am angry?

As Rocket J Squirrel was fond of saying "That trick never works." You couldn't even get two truckers to agree on the color of the sky on a clear day. Back when I was driving some truckers wanted to call a strike to protest low freight prices. All the bros were like yeah, yeah, let's do it. Meet ups were scheduled, nobody showed up. Over and over. Dummies were still talking that junk when I hung up my CB. Here's the deal, truckers gotta earn a living to feed their wife and kids at home and the other family two states over. Know how much it costs to fill two one hundred gallon tanks with diesel? Neither do I, but it's A LOT! Enough to make 748.000 truckers have second thoughts about running empty to bum fuck Texas. How stupid are you to follow Dr. Strange thoughts to some cow pasture in the middle of no where, then stand there and say "We're the Fugowe!" Secondly, who would care?

I don't think there protest has amount to a hill of beans. The media has spent most of its time pointing out what a flop it is. What trucker, as you point out, has the time and money to drive to South Texas to park in a campground and piss and moan when diesel is about $4 a gallon? I think they got a handful of big rigs and a bunch of angry over 60 white guys who watch too much FOX News.
