I don't want to diminish the seriousness of the situation, but there's going to be a lot of great comedy today about the failure of Trump's birthday "perade" to draw a crowd. And a hell of a lot of funny signs from various "No Kings" rallies across the country.

Yeah, it turned out to be more pathetic than I had even imagined it could be. And the signs were fantastic at the protests. $45 million to stroke his ego. Imagine what that could have done for veterans of the military.

Texas already has a worse tax burden than California, the most polluted air, toll roads that make the cost of travel ridiculous for commuters, schools that are losing funding so the governor can invest in religious education, a shortage of water in metro areas, more than a million uninsured children, (the most of any state,) highest rate of infant mortality, largest percentage of high school pregnancies among teens, and the greatest number of gun deaths per capita in the country. Texas could do worse than become more like California.
