Hey Jim,

It pains me to say that I’ve come to the same conclusion. MAGA and so much of mainstream media have succeeded in convincing the shallow thinkers of the President’s ineptness, ignoring all of his accomplishments while jumping all over the slightest missteps or tired-looking moments. Meanwhile, Trumps’s cult along with much of MSM ignore his endless lies, the Nazi-like promises of Project 2025, his incoherent speeches, his felonies, his indictments, and most importantly, the warnings from several people that served in his first administration. For political reasons, your proposed speech is perfect…except I’d like him to endorse Jamie Raskin.

Jamie Raskin would make a hell of a president but it's not gonna happen any time soon, I'm afraid. And I agree, we are not exactly being well served by our media. They have become as benumbed with Trump's lies as the general public, and they do not really have that privilege, Robert.

Although it hurts my heart, I concur. Our democracy needs to put an end to Agent Orange’s autocratic, sociopathic and hateful agenda. The polls were razor thin before June 27th. Regardless of previous candidates lack luster debates, none compares to President Biden’s performance. Yes, he’s restored integrity, leadership and genuine, patriotic concern to the office, but it’s time to pass the torch. There is too much at stake to risk loosing this election.

Jim… your tone is pitch perfect. Do you have any subscribers in the inner circle at the White House? Sure hope so.

No, I’ve no contacts up there any more, Dave, and they’ve got plenty of speechwriters. What they need is a president to ask for such a speech.

Great point, Jim. Or maybe a First Lady to tell her husband to ask for such a speech.

Great speech. Won't happen. Joe's hubris is showing.

I disagree that he should withdraw, but even more I think opening the field to other candidates would be political suicide. We've already elected his successor, and she is the only person who can wield their campaign's hefty war chest. If he does have to step down everything is already in place except Harris' choice of running mate.

Music to my ears.

Sorry JB,

I can't agree with you less. I have told others here to get fucked just because of their point of view on Biden's acuity. I won't do that with you because I have enjoyed most all of your posts. Except for this one and one other like it I think. Remember Obama had a bad first debate, Hillary had a bad debate. Shit happens. But now is not the time to jerk the carpet from under Biden. I BELIEVE doing that will seriously undermine the Democrats efforts to hold the white house, regain control of the House and Senate and put a strangle hold on SCOTUS. Biden has all his advisors lined up, not one of them in prison, convicted or under indictment.

There simply isn't time for a replacement to be agreed upon, throwing the Democrat convention into disarray.

This sir, I believe is your goal. I believe you, the New York Times, Chris Chilliza and others are attempting to throw this election to rUmP. Why, I can only guess. I know, without doubt, that you are smarter than I. But, I am not stupid. You can sit at the keyboard and type up some half way credible excuse as to why you and the others are backing the rUmP for president. I don't buy it. And I am not buying it anymore. Truly breaks my heart. But now I find I must repurpose my $5.00 to more worthy causes.

Good day to you Sir.

And NO luck to you in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

OFWG.

I'm not backing Trump, amigo. I would vote for Biden in hospice before I voted for Trump. I just think the president is no longer in a position to win and another Democrat can defeat the orange idiot. Sorry you think my motive is to throw the election to Trump. You could not be more wrong. Everything I've written and every word I've spoken over the past 8 years has been about his defeat. But I respect your right to disagree with my approach.
