I don't have faith in the current SCOTUS, a majority of whose members would welcome a sophistical argument in an amicus brief advocating the abandonment of voting rights that have been regarded as fundamental to American democracy for 250 years.

This is how it always begins whether it's a war, a revolution, or a divorce. We have to keep watching and reporting what we see. It doesn't have to be this way.
This is the story - which you capture very compellingly - that I think of when the right touts paper ballots as somehow safer than computerized ones. This and of course events in Chicago and NYC around the turn of the century. When Trump called Georgia looking for more votes - this what the type of goal he had in mind. And of course the impact will be on people of color - who may have been more likely to have home births or who have had to move often for work so who may not reside where they were born, or the poor who cannot afford to pay for their birth certificates, and immigrants who may have proudly taken American sounding names when they became citizens, and places like Oregon where mail ballots are the default, or the elderly and people with disabilities who rely on mail in ballots those are the folks who will be turned away or find their ballots never come, the conservatives whose wives have taken their married names will just say "we have one vote and that is the male head of household." This is the move of a dictator.
So totally scary!! It would be beyond naive to think that our criminal pedophile pathologically lying president will not do everything in his power to overturn free and fair elections! I think this November everyone who loves America will need to be prepared to stand up, take to the streets and overturn the criminal regime!!💙💙💙💙
